About MJ

Michael Jenkins - Artist, is also Michael Jenkins - The Builder. Infact, it was Michael's work in the construction of residential and commercial buildings that led him to develop a keen interest in design - and his acclaimed assemblage artworks.

As a builder, Michael has been involved in the construction of townhouses, apartment warehouses and offices in the inner urban and bayside areas of Melbourne, Australia. This work continues to provide inspiration for many of his art projects.

Michael's lifelong passion for surfing, and travel to culturally interesting destinations, is also reflected frequently in much of his work. From the subjects and colours, to the textures and materials, they all represent aspects of his modern world and that of a bygone era.
